How To Test For Mold And Get Rid Of It

In this episode, Michael Rubino sat down with Emma Rohmann on her podcast The Missing Pillar of Health Podcast to discuss mold and remediation.

During this podcast, Michael discusses what mold is and why it’s harmful when it’s in our homes. The idea that “mold is ubiquitous” and therefore is just a thing that happens in homes, isn’t exactly true. Any mold in a home should be treated the same and removed as soon as possible. They also discuss the ability of some species of mold to produce microscopic toxins called mycotoxins. These particles can also cause adverse health reactions to those exposed.

When it comes to determining if a home has mold, Michael lists a few aspects to look for, including his favorite 30-second trick. At the end of the day, though, a mold inspection is the best way to determine what the mold situation is within a home. When it comes to choosing an inspector, certain questions need to be asked to ensure they’re the right person for the job. Michael and Emma discuss what these should entail as well as questions to ask a remediation company.

If remediation isn’t an option at the moment, Michael discusses a few ways individuals can work to remove the mold particles and toxins from their environment until they’re able to hire a professional to come in and complete the job.
