When you’re dealing with a mold problem, you need a remediation protocol that completely eliminates the problem so the air quality in your home doesn’t cause adverse health effects. Unfortunately, not all protocols are created equally. At the moment, the remediation industry is a bit topsy-turvy when it comes to treatment plans that get rid of contamination in homes.

That’s where HomeCleanse (AAR) comes in. Whether you work with us or decide to embark on the remediation journey on your own, we’re here to help you so that your home is safe and mold-free. We even spearheaded a Home Detox protocol process to ensure your home has clean air.

MOLD IN A HOME

Mold can inhabit any house, whether it’s brand new or 100 years old. With tens of thousands of species identified so far, this fungus exists almost everywhere. They reproduce asexually and create spores that ride the air current where that may lead and land on any surface they come into contact with. Your home just happens to make a fantastic landing zone for them, if it holds one key ingredient: moisture.

The Home Detox

Mold spores require very little to survive. Given oxygen, a temperature between 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit, food (they eat pretty much anything), and moisture, they can grow and thrive. A temperature-controlled home filled with oxygen and plenty of food sources? That’s a mold spore’s dream. Throw in a little moisture (which can easily occur) and it will never want to leave.

As mold spores colonize, they release more and more spores into the air of your home. That’s when the trouble begins. Not only are you breathing in all of those foreign particles every time you’re in your home, but if those spores also find another moist area (like the toilet tank) they’ll opportunistically colonize that area too. It’s easy for one mold problem to turn into a trail of mold problems, which drastically affects the air quality of your home.

Many species of mold are also capable of producing microscopic toxins called mycotoxins. They release these little compounds into the air when they feel threatened, which adds more foreign particles to the already contaminated space. These little toxins can also cause a range of adverse health effects to those exposed.

To make matters worse, mycotoxins can not be remediated in the same way that mold can. That’s why HomeCleanse created The Home Detox method, a revolutionary cleaning protocol geared specifically towards treating mycotoxins.

MOLD REMOVAL

Finding or suspecting mold in your home can be daunting, especially with the massive amount of misinformation out there and the general lack of mold awareness. Our experience in the remediation realm has offered us the unique insight to successfully get you started on your journey to cleaner air.

MOLD INSPECTION

The first step to determining the scope of a mold problem is to hire a qualified mold inspector. This individual should provide you with an accurate map that details exactly what’s going on with the air quality in your home. The process itself should take a few hours, use a variety of testing methods, and should cover the entire building.

Some of the data you should expect to see includes:

    • Types of molds present
    • Quantities of each mold
    • Potential spore presence in the HVAC system
    • Mycotoxin presence (a harmful toxin produced by molds)
    • Bacterial presence

With that information, you’ll know the state of the air quality, how many problem areas exist, and what kind of remediation you’re going to need.

REMEDIATION

The biggest problem we face in the mold remediation industry is the widespread belief that any professional and any practice will improve air quality. TNo every remediation company is the same. As science continues to develop, we’re seeing that many companies don’t include aspects like bacteria and mycotoxins in their removal plans, which means anyone experiencing symptoms from mold exposure will continue to suffer.

The Home Detox

A trustworthy company creates protocols backed by science and prioritizes your health. They should stand on three pillars to achieve this:

1. Remediate the sources properly.
2. Identify and address the problems that led to those sources in the first place.
3. Eradicate all contamination created by those sources, including toxins and bacteria.

Many companies will skip over steps two and three during their treatment process, but that means the mold problem isn’t completely resolved. Without fixing the source, mold can find that water source again and grow back. Leaving contaminants like mycotoxins and bacteria will perpetuate exposure and allow symptoms to persist. That’s a failed job in our eyes.

THE HOME DETOX: HomeCleanse

At HomeCleanse, our goal is to ensure your home is clean and healthy for you and your family. HomeCleanse President Michael Rubino and Jeffery Nowitzke took their combined 25 years of experience working with immunocompromised individuals experiencing environmental exposures to create a copyrighted process called The Home Detox. This proven cleaning protocol is effective at not only removing mycotoxins but also lowering ERMI scores (as long as the sources have been remediated properly).

If you’re unfamiliar with ERMI, Michael Rubino and his team created an explanatory video to explain this testing method and how it works in tandem with remediation. Understanding the process can help give you the insight you need during your remediation journey.

OUR METHOD

When we take on a remediation project, we first fix the sources of the mold problem in the first place and then employ this cleaning protocol. The cleaning method itself involves specialized equipment and products that can deal with all of the contaminants in a home. That includes mold, mycotoxins, and bacteria. Because mycotoxins bond to the surfaces they come into contact with, it took years of trial and error. Eventually, AAR found a way to use these products and a specified cleaning methodology to eliminate mold and its byproducts from a home.

Our philosophy is that we won’t leave until we’re confident your mold problem is solved for good. The Home Detox method ensures just that. We also know, though, that sometimes unexpected and costly events like mold growth just don’t fit into the budget. That’s why we created a cheaper alternative called The Home Detox Box.

WHY IT’S IMPORTANT

We crafted The Home Detox because we continued to see the impact mold exposure had on people’s lives. Mold and its affiliated contaminants can cause a range of symptoms, from mildly irritating like coughing and a sore throat to severe such as chronic fatigue and neurological issues. When we kept seeing symptoms persist after remediation, we knew something had to be done.

Everyone deserves to live in a healthy and happy home. The first step towards that goal is to create better indoor air quality and decontaminate surfaces. Our proven process does that. So, whether you hire us for your remediation project or purchase The Home Detox Box, HomeCleanse is here to ensure your success. No one should have to deal with a toxic indoor environment alone.
